SALT
SALT is a powerful short autobiographical film by Alice Ward, a filmmaker, surfer, and woman living with Cystic Fibrosis. From the moment her mother noticed her unusually salty skin at birth, leading to her diagnosis, salt has shaped Alice’s life in profound ways. The ocean became both a place of challenge and freedom, ultimately guiding her to become the first woman in Ireland to film surfing from within the water, capturing the sport through a distinctly female perspective.
Mountain Waves – A River Surfing Short Doc
Deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountain range lies a surf shop with long line of stories to its name. Salida Colorado houses the greatest river surfing wave in the state - but its origins begin with the birth of their whitewater park itself.
Mike Harvey is a local who came to the Arkansas River Valley to pursue whitewater rafting and kayaking back in the early 90's. His love for the river and pursuit of "stepping it up a notch" brought him and Zach Hughes to the pinnacle of wave creation and board shaping right on the banks of the Arkansas River.
Going Places
In "Going Places," visiting surfer Pacha Light learns about the country's premiere wave Punta Roca from Bryan Perez, its most famous local and El Salvador's first pro surfer. (Who, it should be noted, learned to surf at Punta Roca on half a surfboard.) Pacha then heads up the coast to El Zonte, home of Puro Surf -- a unique hotel/surf academy -- and catches up with founder Marcelo Castellanos, who talks about the performance academy which coaches local surfers. Pacha continues on to meet Suri Barrera, who started Hijas del Mar, a program specifically targeted to helping young Salvadorian girls get in the water.

When Torren Martyn and Aiyana Powell put out the message that they might need an experienced hand to guide the 35ft sailing boat 'Calypte' up the Malacca Strait and around to Sumatra, sailor and filmmaker Kelly Foote offered to help. While showing Torren and Aiyana the ropes, Kelly started filming and a story emerged.
